The initial inspiration for the Standard Range was connected to my love of the Vitsoe shelves. A friend of mine is lucky to have them and I have to fight the urge to steal them every time I drop by. Of course, when you cant afford to buy something, and you're a designer, you find yourself trying to naively work out a solution- like building something similar yourself. One thing that has always bothered me about Vitsoe is why the concept was never extended beyond the shelves- say, to other common components. The advent of the Andy Lamp, the skinny lights and the miranda table is related to my desire to extend the Vitsoe concept to other standard components. In general, I am particularly interested in offering my consumers as many means of reconfiguring my ideas as possible. The light design reflects me but the use of commonly bought track-shelving is a way for me to ask the buyer to complement my idea with their own about its utility within the space it is being placed.
