Philippe Malouin was born in Montreal, he currently lives and works in London.

After completing Industrial Design studies in Montreal and then at the ENSCI in Paris, he was hired as an intern by the duo Frank Tjepkema and Janneke Hooymans, better known as Tjep, to work in their studio in Amsterdam. He continued his studies at the Eindhoven Design Academy (The Netherlands) where his graduate project entitled Grace Table, was selected for the René Smeets Award.

In 2008, Philippe Malouin freelanced for the English designer Tom Dixon, where he collaborated on the conception of a number of furniture projects as well as on several substantial interior design plans. He then set up his own studio in London, Philippe Malouin Design, where he has been able to use a more experimental approach in his work in parallel with the projects he undertakes with industrial manufacturers. Philippe Malouin’s creations attract not only the press’s attention, but also that of institutions and the international art market. The Italian review Abitare (Design and Architecture) calls him one of the five designers of the year; his work Hanger Chair is exposed at the Gent Design Museum (Belgium); and his creations are on display at the Rossana Orlandi Gallery (Milan), the Fumi Gallery (London), Commissaires (Montreal) and NextLevel Galerie (Paris). Philippe's client list includes Droog Design, Volkswagen, Wallpaper magazine, Campeggi, B-Store only to name a few.

In 2009, Philippe Malouin received the second place Young Designer Award at the Cologne International Furniture Fair for his execution of Grace Table. In early April, he has co-curated "It actually has a use" at Commissaires Gallery in Montreal where his pieces were showcased for the first time in Canada, alongside designers chosen by Philippe himself. He got the chance to present his new collection "standard" in his own space this year at Spazio Rossana Orlandi. During the Salone, he also exhibited his "humpty" lamp at "Hidden Heroes", a show curated by Fabiana Vidal. Philippe was given his first solo show in may 2009 by NextLevel Galerie in Paris, where most of his work, alongside a new piece: "skid-row", was commisioned by the Galery. During the summer of 2009, Philippe set up post-office, the London-based, multi-disciplinary architectural and interiors design practice with Architect Sacha Leong. In January 2009, Philippe was selected alongside Peter Marigold and studio Glithero as part of "In residence Project", where he got to lead a workshop for 30 selected students from Italian design schools. Philippe Has recently presented his second solo show at NextLevel Galerie called "demonstration", the show presents his latest gridlock collection. In April 2010, Azure magazine present Philippe as one of their "Front runners, 25 young designers leading the pack" made from a selection of designers worldwide between the age of 25 and 40.

Philippe is currently working on various furniture and product design projects as well as interior projects with post-office.
