Scoop, Producer: Meritalia®
Scoop is a modular seating system designed by Philippe Malouin for Meritalia. The collection takes the form of an aggregation of monolithic blocks, reducing the traditional club chair to simplified, geometric volumes. Its name refers to the gesture of scooping ice cream with a spoon, leaving a smooth groove across the surface, an idea translated into the softened cuts and double contours of the seating. Beneath the apparently rigid geometry, layers of different-density padding create enveloping curves and a soft tactile experience. Upholstered in warm, velvety felt with raw-cut and sewn edges, the interlocking modules can be combined into continuous seating configurations.

Description
Scoop is a modular seating system that reinterprets the traditional club chair through simplified monolithic volumes and softened geometric profiles. Double contours and multi-density padding create enveloping forms, while warm, velvety felt upholstery emphasises the contrast between the apparent rigidity of the structure and its softness. The interlocking modules can be combined to create continuous seating arrangements.
