Vite, Producer: Alessi
Vite is an espresso coffee maker that translates the mechanics of its use directly into its form. Designed by Philippe Malouin, the boiler takes the shape of a screw, referencing the gesture required to operate the moka while giving the object a distinctly industrial character. The project emerged from Malouin’s Scrapyard Works process, in which fragments and forms found in industrial environments became a starting point for new objects. Cast aluminium forms the main body, contrasted with a coloured thermoplastic resin handle and knob and a magnetic steel base suitable for induction cooking. The resulting moka combines a sculptural presence with the directness of a functional everyday tool.

Description
Vite is an espresso coffee maker whose boiler takes the form of a screw, directly referencing the gesture involved in its use. Designed by Philippe Malouin, the project combines cast aluminium with a coloured thermoplastic resin handle and knob and a magnetic steel base suitable for induction cooking. Its industrial character is further developed through colour variations inspired by the machinery and tools of the Alessi workshop.
